491 Feed Your Blog to Twitter [Tutorial]

Here is a short video tutorial on how to import your blog updates into your twitter account using the Twitterfeed service. In other words, whenever you publish a post on your blog, your twitter is updated with a link to your blog for that post.

In the video we also show how to do the same for your flickr account. When you post a new photo, your twitter is updated with a link to it.

The same principle applies to any other site that has an RSS feed.

  • Hi Michael,
The tutorial above is for your twitter account getting updated with your blog posts rather than the other way around. I had a look at your blog and it's hosted on Wordpress.com which means you are not able to load any custom plugins which are available for self-hosted wordpress blog + allow you to feed your twitter postings to your blog. There might be a way with Wordpress.com but I am not aware of it. Sorry.
    Thanks for stopping by..
  • I'm totally a greenhorned newb to blogging, but have begun exploring web 2.0 apps. I've a question...Will twitterfeed update my blog based on ANY update, such as an edit? Hopefully the feeds are only for new posts. I like the idea of twitterfeed but I am reticent to try it while I am just learning how to use a blog like wordpress. Call it broadcast fear if you like, but my content is sparse right now and I'm mostly familiarizing myself with the tools at this point.
