Open GDNM 2011 is both an exhibition and a workspace. A three day event featuring the UCA Epsom BA(Hons) Graphic Design: New Media graduate show and the undergraduate interim show. The event will host a series of open talks and workshops by design and media practitioners, theorists, staff, students and alumni. Work will be presented across; interface and interaction design, motion graphics, critical design, open culture, typography, virtual space, sound visualization, collaborative practice, graphic design, photography and digital film.
Open GDNM 2011 specifically encourages dialogue and practice. Several open projects will be completed over the three days including a collaborative (print on demand) book, a documentary film and a creative coding workshop run by our very own Processing society. These workshops and talks run by leading industry professionals, staff and students will cover; digital design, collaborative working, physical computing, digital culture, code and hardware, noise and sound.
CAN will be at the event with me giving a talk about the recent ‘workshop collaborative‘ held at OFFF in Barcelona earlier this week. You will also get a chance to see latest work by the MA Digital Media and Architecture students from University of Westminster where I teach.
