7200 Supershapes [Flash, Hype]

Inspired by the work of Paul Bourke, Eugene created this flash application using Hype framework that allows you to manipulates supershapes. Supershapes are a three dimensional version of shapes generated using superformula, a generalization of the superellipse first proposed by Johan Gielis. Gielis suggested that the formula can be used to describe many complex shapes and curves that are found in nature.

The demo application here shows basic usage of Supershape class. Eugene writes: This is a very dirty 3D rendering using built in Flash methods with very very primitive triangle Z sorting. I should also mention that the shapes are audio reactive to a MP3 of your choice! (see video).

Demo Application or read more about it here.
