this appears to be a beautiful existentialist exploration of the soul of a graveyard harbouring the memories that reside in the archetypal essence of each of us... it would be a delight to see it on the small screen

I've just heard that the people behind Katamari Damacy have recently released a new game for the iPhone plattform so I came here looking for more information about it. Somehow I ended up more interested in this other game, which looks like something Keita Takahashi would've never created, not even in his worst nightmare!

The pacing of this game blew me away. Because the age of your avatar limits you to slow, feeble footsteps I felt drawn into the character, simultaneously frustrated by the age of her/my body but also liberated from the hold-b-to-sprint freneticism of most other games. Prior to playing The Graveyard I had never experienced a game that was able to make me feel old... Being forced to walk slowly makes you spend more energy on appreciating your surroundings.

Despite having purchased the full PC version I have only ever played the free edition, but I appreciate the stance they take towards death. Death is all around, inherent in the environment itself, but not treated in a frightening manner: If you die, you die, and that is the end. It is a refreshing change from the multiple lives of arcade games or the meaningless deaths in games with quicksaves.

It is a great game, and it makes me very happy to see more introspective games like "The Graveyard" and Jason Rohrer's "Passage" getting exposure on the iPhone.

Tale of Tales really do make interesting “games“. After having bought the mac version, it seems as if I have to get this one also. Their first dedicated iPhone app “Vanitas“ still keeps me entertained. Always a surprise what might be in the box. And now the „The Graveyard“.

The best about Tale of Tales games is that they don't make you think. At least not about the games themselves. Instead your mind is free to float around, to think for itself. Their games are like sitting in the park, starring at the sky and think about everything and nothing. An alternative for everyone who hasn't got the time to go to the park.

Still sad that we need nowadays games for that, but oh well. Can't have everything. Hey, maybe after playing “The Graveyard“ people actually do go to one. And sit. And watch.
