  • Pixel [iPhone]Pixel [iPhone] This is an application released only few days ago. Whilst at first sight it may seem a little simple or maybe too simple it offers exactly what it says - Draws Pixels. • Camera Art [iPhone]Camera Art [iPhone] "Camera Art" is a term used when you throw your camera into the air using long exposure to generate imagery, a form of Kinetic Photography if you like. Of course, with Camera Art for the iPhone you don't actually need to throw your iPhone around but rather the app uses the motion sensor to detect movement and apply long exposure to your photo. More options would be nice but without understanding SDK access to the camera functionality it is hard to say what is actually possible. Nevertheless, $0.99 is a lot cheaper than a broken regular camera if you want to play around. When you tap the shutter button, the shutter is not immediately fired. Instead, it uses the accelerometer to detect movement to fire the shutter. Thus, the camera has to be moving while the shutter opens, for the smooth lines and lights.  If you want to know more about camera tossing, make sure you visit this group on Flickr. There is some amazing imagery being created and we are sure a lot of broken cameras with it. Simple yet fun little app to mess with iPhone's camera. Platform: iPhone Version: 1.0 Cost: $0.99 Developer: Sudobility Download [xrr […]
  • QuadCamera [iPhone]QuadCamera [iPhone] QuadCamera is a new addition to the range of small camera apps created by Takayuki Fukatsu. Simple to use, the app takes 4-8 serial shoots and create one image. What makes QuadCamera great is that it's a fantastic tool to get instant results from the iPhone camera. The photos are great in both good and low light thanks to a photo effect that is applied to the photo. You also have a choice to do your photos in black and white only and a range of formats perfectly laid out for you. Should you find that the speed photos are taken is too fast, the menu allows you to specify the time between the shots. Simple, minimal and gorgeous QuadCamera is probably one of most creative photography apps available in the AppStore. Something that would take at least half hour on your desktop, QuadCamera does in few seconds. If you like the app, make sure you also check out ToyCamera (itunes link), a great camera companion for taking quick but great photos on your iPhone (flickr group). For more great apps by Takayuki Fukatsu, check out the blog here. Main features: - 4 or 8 serial shoots. - Set 0.25-3 seconds serial shoot duration. - Color mode or 2 color mode of black and white. - various layout variation: 2x2, 4x1, 4x2, 8x1. - Resolution 800*600*. • InstaCRT – A “real world” iPhone filter for photosInstaCRT – A “real world” iPhone filter for photos InstaCRT is a project and an iPhone camera app by Martin Ström, Ruben Broman and Erik Wåhlström. The project started as an idea to see how a “real world” filter for photos (like the popular Histamatic and Instagram apps) would work, except their filter is actually real and not digitally applied. There are two components to the project - an iPhone app and a hardware setup that includes a Canon 7D camera, an old CRT display and an old MacBookPro. When someone takes a picture using the iPhone app, the image is automatically uploaded to a REST server. The macbook then uses a Ruby script to feth images from the REST server, download them and show them in fullscren on the old CRT display using Quartz Composer. The Canon 7D then takes a photo of the CRT display, sent back to the user that took the photo and also uploaded to public Tumblr site. Get the app on the AppStore | Project Page /found […]

I would also urge people interested in a Flickr application to give Exposure a try before deciding.
