Instead of adopting techniques to replicate vintage camera effects like many apps in the AppStore do, Dan Lipert, developer behind Chromocam is releasing a series of iPhone app that use information captured by the camera to output some very beautiful generative effects. The first of these apps is “Dots” which allows you to convert pixels in the photo to larger translucent circles with options to increase or decrease their size, intensity as well as animate the whole process. The output are high resolution images you can see below.
