KaleidoVid is the latest iPhone application by Polar Bear Farm and App Cubby bringing kaleidoscopic image generator using iPhone’s built in camera. As you point the camera at the enviroment around you, you will see real time camera feed of kaleidoscopic images. Tap the screen to freeze the image. Save or share it on Twitter, Facebook, or via email. Simple, fun and beautiful.

  1. Looks jerky, like doing only 5 frames per seconds. Is this on a 3G or on a 3GS?

  2. Note that this is transforming the live video 20 or so times which may be there reason why it appears low frame count. Another thing is, general issue with all kaleidoscopes is that changes happen very quickly when looking through it which might add to it feeling like it's running at 5fps. It runs ok on 3Gs (video) but yes, not as fast as the camera.app
