PRESS CHECK is the third installment of the FORMation Games for Creatives series. Just submitted to Apple for approval, should be available in the AppStore within a week. is now available!

PRESS CHECK is a designer ode to the old-school art of print plate alignment re-imagined as a challenge of speed and accuracy on your iPhone/iPod Touch. Show off your non-digital skills with levels ranging from the beginner 2-color set-ups to the expert 5-color jobs. Compete against other players worldwide with the international leaderboards for which to aim and judge your scores against. Also included is social sharing with Facebook & Twitter.

We asked Jason Franzen where does all this inspiration come from for the Creatives Series:

Having never design a game before, my initial instinct was to not stray too far away from the things I know well.  From this approach, three ideas were born that eventually became the Games for Creatives series.  Each of these was literally made for self enjoyment, where I considered myself as the client with little regard for what others might think.  I guess that’s not entirely true, as I hoped there might be others out there that might see the pleasure in taking aspects of a design work/lifestyle and turning them into something you can score!  I guess they are my way of connecting the world of Creatives through an elaborate inside joke where the punchline seems to be “It can’t be work if you can get a high score!”  With these experiments completed, I’m excited to move onto some games and Apps for broader audiences where I can still implore my own style and maybe reach a larger audience while maintaining a high level of design integrity.
