7623 ProLoop [iPhone, Sound]

ProLoop is an audio loop playing and sound experimentation app from Trapcode. It features a pretty cool looking interface that shows the waveform of each loop as it plays. It can play up to 6 loops and you can mix and pan each independantly. Where ProLoop shines is it’s ability to mangle your loops by repitching them or performing various modulations on them (using other loops as a modulation source). You can also pitch shift loops by musical amounts, and you have control over quantization. It comes bundled with an assortment of strange loops and offers the ability to load your own loops. Other looping apps, such as Looptastic also let you play and mix loops (with an easier interface), but ProLoop should appeal to experimental, ambient, and noise oriented folks who like to play with sounds live.

Peder of Trapcode sent us 5 promocodes to giveaway. If you would like one, please leave a comment below and we’ll random pick 5 people tomorrow.

  5. As a long term After Effects user, I have always been a fan if Peder's Trapcode plugins. I'd be really curious to see what magic he's coding for the iPhone. Looks great!

  10. OHHHH NO! Right after got hit me with this video, my teen child start screaming “MORE MORE MORE! or will jump out of the window, mum!!!” It's impossible to talk to her. But also it's impossible to buy this app, because my daugter sold to many Hanna Montana apps and broke the limit too.

So, why the heck did you guys not warn us -your visitors- that watching such a video may end up in a serious, life-endangering trouble. I'm just a mother, trying to make this world a better place, trying to bring up my childreen to make it a better place. But know … it looks like that i have failed. Seems i lose my daughter, because i can't buy her this app … and seems, this world won't be a better place.

I'm sooo sorry – thinking about suicide too. I just don't see any way to get this apllication to clear up this mess here.

    yours
    JJ

  39. It was the time of alpha syntauri, when I was tweaking the octave with a fraction, on the settings menu. Playing the kayboard on a 8 steps octave as well. Now finally back here again, with no additive synthesis but loops. Another comment said Whoa, it's been long waiting !

  40. Looks great with an intuitive yet clear interface.
Would thou like to know more about the formats for uploading loops/audio files.
Also if the app supports some kind of export format, midi sound etc.
