Notes application on the iphone has done us good since the release of first generation iPhone. When the AppStore launch we have seen a large number of note taking apps appear that exceed basic set of features available in the Appleâ€™s Notes application. We have seen copy and paste (MagicPad), syncing, custom fonts and much more. There is one application that stands out and this is not for itsÂ richÂ feature set, on the contrary, itâ€™s simplicity – WriteRoom.

For users already not familiar with WriteRoom for Mac, this is an application that takes away all the distraction of your regular desktop and gives you a clean focus on the task at hand – writing. Wonderfully simple, we are happy to see this application found its way into the AppStore.

In addition to the basic tool set, Hog Bay Software have include ability to change background and text colour as well as load WriteRoom interface in your browser by connecting to your iphone via bonjour.

Some may find this app a little expensive in comparison to other Note apps, but this form of beautiful simplicity is rare in the app store. Clean, sleek and functional Writeroom is a prime example that bell and whistles (including copy and paste) are not what makes a great writing app. Highly recommended.
