The University of Applied Sciences Schwäbisch Gmünd (HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd) is one of the most renowned design schools in Germany. The school has a long-standing tradition combining design and technology and was the first one to implement a BA Interaction design in Germany.
We are currently looking for a new internationally experienced member to join our young IoT BA program who will show excellent didactic skills to teach technical foundation courses and user centered development methods for digital products, technologies and services. The applicant is expected to lecture and teach the entire product development process – from design concepts to functional prototypes. The candidate will also give foundation courses in applied computer science with an emphasis on IoT, network engineering, physical computing and programming.
The candidate has a strong background in teaching and mentoring and is able to conduct multidisciplinary product development with a focus on applied computer science (IoT, tinkering, programming, data bases, networks).
The future professor will be actively involved in developing the interdisciplinary aspects of the department and expanding the new cooperation program (e.g. setting up an IoT-Lab).
The candidate is expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels (BA / MA), supervise graduate and undergraduate projects for all programs (including a joint IoT program with the University of Aalen) and to conduct her/his own research activities.
This position requires a university degree in a relevant field of studies, an excellent track record of relevant projects, five years of professional experience including three years in a non-academic environment.
