Description

Disney Interactive is seeking a talented, motivated developer to join a small team of UX Engineers leading the charge in modern web development and design. This individual will collaborate closely with product, design, and UX to create Disney’s next generation of web and mobile products.

The ideal candidate is a multidisciplinary dev-design hybrid with a passion for building unique, creative experiences across the web and mobile devices and has a keen eye for visual design and user interaction. In addition to building current products, they will also be responsible for researching and experimenting with emerging technologies to rapidly prototyping new guest experiences for current or future projects. This candidate will be expected to deliver quickly and iteratively in an agile environment while building, breaking, and creating world class web and mobile experiences.

Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the fields of web and mobile development and design
• BS in Computer Science / BFA in Digital Media Art or equivalent experience
• Multidisciplinary dev-design hybrid with a passion for modern web development and design
• Advanced experience with modern web programming languages and standards: JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, Ruby, Python, etc
• Advanced experience with modern web frameworks and libraries: jQuery, Dojo, Sinatra, Rails, Flask, Django, etc
• Advanced experience with current tools and techniques for building rich client-side applications and user experiences: Node, Express, Backbone, etc
• Experience with mobile development: Objective-C/iOS, Java/Android, web apps
• Experience in developing rich interactive experiences: game development and design, CSS3 animation, DOM manipulation, canvas, audio, video, WebGL, etc

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and UX to solve technical issues and build amazing guest experiences
• Intelligently interpret UX wires and Design mocks into functional layouts and interfaces
• Build and maintain extensible cross-browser and cross-device front end code
• Push the boundaries of traditional web design by building high-performance, responsibly responsive, world class products
• Research and experiment with the latest and greatest technologies to identify, test, and apply them to current and future projects
