Creative Developer at KASUGA

Company: KASUGA

Location: Berlin, Germany
Type: Freelance
Category: Creative Coder

Description

KASUGA is seeking for an experienced Creative Developer (Freelance) to support us on ongoing projects for our industry clients.

Brief description of ongoing projects
We are currently working on specialized software solutions for video editing and rendering, which are entirely developed with openFrameworks / FFmpeg and deployed for the Mac and Windows platform. Here, your task would be to work together with our lead developer on the further development and to integrate new application functions.
Another current project is an interactive spatial installation and an iOS- and Android-App with the congruent functionality. The installation was originally developed with Processing / JAVA and has now to be rewritten in openFrameworks with focus on both, the spatial and device based use.
Apart from these two openFrameworks projects, we regularly have tasks where we develop with Processing, JAVA, VVVV, Arduino, JavaScript, WebGL or Objective C for interactive / kinetic / light / sound / projection works.

What we are looking for
You should be a mid to high level Creative Coder (min. 3 years working experience) and familiar with some of the above mentioned programming languages / environments. With a clear focus on openFrameworks and C++ (for now), it is a plus when you are able to understand and write code in JAVA / JavaScript. You have a good eye for simplicity, intuitiveness and motion and a curiosity to solve problems in a creative and sometimes experimental way. Depending on the project type, you either could work from remote or join us in our studio in Berlin.

About the studio
KASUGA is an interdisciplinary studio, active in the field of design, technology and art. The spectrum of the studio’s work ranges from audio-visual installations for and with spaces, physical objects, graphic and interaction design, specialized software solutions and interactive media experiences. Besides developing projects for industry and enterprise needs, the studio initiates and realizes contemporary media art pieces.
