Creative Technologies is a novel interdisciplinary group and master’s program about creative coding, tech & film at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. The group was formerly named Audio-Visual Application Design.
This is a qualifying position and you can combine it with working towards a PhD. We have academic and academic-artistic PhD programs!

Responsibilities include 6 hours of course load per week as part of the CTech curriculum as well as project work and the administration of technical equipment. Lecture topics include theory and practice of audio-visual media applications and media computer science and the teaching is under the supervision of the professorships. Responsibilities also include individual support of students and the handling of technical problems. Lectures are mainly held in English.
The position further covers the investigation, acquisition and maintenance of hardware and software for media technology projects and the development and maintenance of the infrastructure for the CTech group.
The holder of this position is expected to participate in planning and administrational tasks for the master program (e.g. organization of the curriculum, examinations, excursions, academic advising, committee attendances) and in the university wide self-governmental work.
This position includes the advancement of a personal qualification. A reasonable amount of the work time is dedicated to an academic, technological or artistic personal qualification project, for example within the PhD program (scientific or scientific-artistic) of the Film University.
The qualification objective should be within the topics of media computer science and audiovisual applications (e.g. Computer Graphics, Sound, VR/MR/AR, Creative Coding, VFX
Production Tools, HCI, Visual Analytics, etc.). Please submit a concept for your qualification project with a time- and budgeting plan, spanning over the whole time of the employment.
A university degree (M.A. or M.Sc.) is required in the area of media computer science, computer science, media technologies, digital media, interaction/experience design or similar. In case of an artistic-design focused degree, please explicitly document your fulfillment of the required technical qualifications (see below).
We also require the following specific competencies:
− Advanced programming skills
− Knowledge of and practical experience with audio-visual media technologies
− Interest in experimenting with novel technologies
− Basic experiences (e.g. with a master thesis) with research
− Special aptitude for team work, high communication competences and enjoyment in collaborative and interdisciplinary work
− Proactive contributions and collaboration to shape the groups topic areas and work processes for establishing the new group permanently
− Very good command of English
