Random International are looking for a software engineer/coder/developer to join the studio to create unique applications for interactive installations both large and small.
Candidates should have an active interest in:
–Coding for real world and physical applications
–Understanding how people and machines interact with each other
–Computer vision and working in 3D
–Programming real-time applications such as games and simulations
Experience with or understanding of some or all of the following technologies would be favourable:
–C# / .net / Mono
–XNA / MonoGame
–Serial and network communications
–A working understanding of embedded systems and ‘real world’ interfaces is desirable but not mandatory
–Other frameworks for creative coding such as Unity, VVVV, openFrameworks
The role involves working closely with the artists and design team on the realisation and delivery of increasingly ambitious, large-scale projects. The candidate will report to the senior developer and head of technology.
A hands-on attitude, meticulous attention to detail and good diagnostic / problem-solving skills are essential. The successful applicant will be able to adapt and extend their knowledge as projects dictate and work effectively individually and as part of a team. A highly organised individual, the successful applicant will be eligible to work in the UK.
