Meow Wolf is seeking a Tech Special Projects Architect to work directly with the CTO, Corvas Brinkerhoff, in development of high-level strategies and frameworks for new projects and opportunities. The position will have a relatively high degree of autonomy and creative input on large-scale projects, working with the CTO to develop the vision, structure, and teams needed to execute ambitious and innovative projects that merge together art, interactivity, technology, and storytelling.

Job Description:
Projects will range from large scale public facing projects – mind-blowing interactive installations and transmedia platforms – to internal systems developed to improving the operational efficiency and effectiveness of Meow Wolf Creative Studios.
The candidate must possess deep technical understanding, the ability to think open-mindedly about complex problems, strong big-picture visualization ability, and good instincts reading people. Communicating and collaborating with a very large array of people from artists, technicians, fabricators, administrators, managers, and executives, makes it critical that the candidate be able to read an audience and deliver important information succinctly and sensitively.

Job Requirements:
Collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and writing. Budgeting, agile and waterfall management modalities, project coordination, strong understanding of software development pipelines and methodologies, comprehensive awareness of tools and processes used in creating interactive experiences, and a general aptitude for systems engineering and design thinking.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This role also includes standard equipment for immersive experiences such as sensors, microcontrollers, computers, lights, sound, video, and electromechanical elements.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work related travel for meetings, partnership development, and developing new markets will happen fairly frequently, up to 3 short trips per month.

Required Education and Experience:
5+ years developing new technology, software development, working with microcontroller/custom hardware, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams

Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or better.
