On behalf of the European Commission, Ars Electronica hereby issues an open call for entries to a competition that will determine the first recipients of STARTS, prestigious and—with two €20,000 grants—highly endowed awards. Expressly encouraged are innovative projects at the interface of science, technology and art.
“We firmly believe that, in the 21st century, innovation will happen at the crossroads linking different modes of thinking. With STARTS, we promote, in particular, synergies between the arts and innovation for technology and society.” – Ralph Dum, European Commission
Extended Online Submission Deadline: March 13, 2016 (11:59 PM, CET)
Winners of the STARTS Prize will be notified by May 10, 2016.
The submitter of the project does not have to be the artist; another person (e.g. artists representatives, representatives of a community, project coordinators, etc.) can submit a project as well. Furthermore, a submitter is allowed to submit several projects and/or submit projects in the name of several participants.
