Unfolded Liquid [Processing]

Unfolded Liquid (2011) is a program of computer-assisted folding Etienne Cliquet designed with the help of programmer Robin Fercoq. The video includes Etienne, presenting himself as an editor to read and save folds. The software, built in Java (Processing?) allows realtime editing of origami fold, followed by Etienne making the pieces out of paper.

Actually that’s Étienne in the video and not Robin. It’s an important element of the performative aspect of his work as Étienne has long been exploring the idea of “demo” as an artistic performance medium. He recently curated an exhibit on this subject/term.
