To be honest, Processing probably is the way forward! It has a larger user base, is more well supported, and at the moment far more powerful— Quartz Composer is a bit easier to use (visual, node-based GUI) and the rendering stage is live-updating (so it's more "immediate" in its programming), but while its support and user base is rapidly expanding it's not at the level Processing is.

There is something strangely beautiful about the glitched image. Especially if you do it to pictures of aeroplanes I've now found. Creating an action to do this might be a little hard mind, but I'm interested to see more results.

Thanks Andrew, your glitching post really was one of the things that sparked my interest in all this digital decay stuff!

Just looking at your post on Slitscanning, very interesting! Ive been looking into creating a video-equivalence of the image glitching to use as a projection installation [http://rafolio.tumblr.com/post/81714775/uni-thesis-project-installation-idea]. I had been thinking processing could be the way forward but it looks like Quartz Composer may be work a look...

Hey, I just got this post emailed to me! Good stuff! It's always neat to see someone thinking along the same lines as I do.
