Founded in 2010 by the architect and artist Ole Fach and the media artist Kim Asendorf, the gallery finally has a place to show the latest works of their favorite artists. Soon on display are a number of established artists using digital media and internet as a stage. The exhibition kicks off with the works by Emilio Gomariz and Andrey Yazev.

The Fach & Asendorf Gallery opened its exhibition space, online in the internet on http://fa-g.org.

Online exhibitions will become an important part of the art scene in the next years, and for the Fach & Asendorf Gallery it will be the basement and future of their action. The main focus is on screen or display related art, but you could also see fresh documentations about installations, paintings, performance or sculptures. But that is just the beginning, they are going to organize in house exhibitions in other galleries, museums and art spaces around the world. And, in the end, they will become a real life gallery.

Pixlr is built for non-professionals, the users that have basic editing needs. It’s not for large RAW images or for printing. It is merely a tool for editing web images to be posted on blogs, news-sites, social networks like Facebook or image sites like Flikr, Photobucket etc.

Since it is Flash based it means that the file must first be uploaded to their server and then downloaded into the application. The file that was uploaded is automatically deleted from the servers after 5 minutes. The changes that you do to the image in the application never leaves your screen.

Incredibly fast, a click away in your browser compared to the ever so lazy Photoshop load screen (much improved in CS4) Pixlr is a serious alternative to simple image editing.
