A knot in motion: on the accident of rain

Build upon the fiction of a knot tied between the two tropical lines along the Atlantic forest in Jundiaí (BR) and the tropical desert in El Kharja oasis (EG), the project gathers and ties together voices from artists based within the tropics speaking with and about the tropical rain through their local perspectives.

Helios 2024 – Imaging and imagining the sun

Helios 2024 is a celebration of the sun in its phase of solar maximum by audiovisual artist Dan Tapper. The exhibition gathers solar data from space organizations, as well as utilizing Tapper’s DIY devices that encode solar data into lo-fi playable records and reveal radio spectrum from the earth’s ionosphere and space.

InterAccess (CA) is pleased to announce the following upcoming programming, including exhibitions, an artist talk, and a workshop, in support of the 2023 Media Arts Prize. 

In this publication we inquire into a technology of accidents, but also into the forms of power and authority that accidents materialize. What are the specific accidents of – call them what you wish: artificial intelligence, machine learning, enhanced pattern recognition – systems?

InterAccess is pleased to present the 22nd Annual IA Current Exhibition, All watched over by machines of loving grace, running November 8 – December 9, 2023.

Presented in honour of InterAccess’s 40th anniversary this exhibition, curated by Shauna Jean Doherty, celebrates Telidon, the Canadian-made technology that inspired the artists who founded InterAccess in 1983.

Latent Imaging and Imagining is part of an autoethnographic artistic research study to explore the concept of chrononormativity through an inverted perspective of nonconforming and how to negotiate a careful and queer mode of accessing childhood memories.

Asia Culture Center (ACC) is seeking participants for ACC Residency 2023.This year, the residency will be held in collaboration with ACC Sound Art Lab under the theme “Futures of Listening” which is also a long-term project led by ACC Sound Art Lab.
