Created by the artist collective WERC, “Pixi” is a digital organism located in a dutch forrest, inspired by the complex patterns that exist in nature and questions whether a technical natural phenomenon can imitate the complex aesthetics of nature or interact with it.

Philips is doing more and more in the field of health and asked the second and third years Interaction Design at ArtEZ Academy of the Arts Arnhem to do develop a project about Quantified Self. Amy Whittle and Willem Kempers teamed up and choose breathing as focus, it being a vital function that can be subconscious as well as controlled.

Installation that combines screenprinting, capacitive sensing, interactive tapestries and generative soundscape, as a large-scale metaphor for the idea of breathing life into a textile skin.

A number of life-support machines are connected to each other, circulating liquids and air in attempt to mimic a biological structure. This is an installation by Revital Cohen who modified and connected organ replacement machines together to have them ‘breathe’ in a closed circuit.
