Created by Mike Hogan, Karen Hogan and Orkan Telhan, ‘Microbial Design Studio’ is a countertop biofabrication machine that brings together the capabilities of a biology wetlab into a single inexpensive piece of hardware to design, culture, and test genetically modified organisms.

Created by United Visual Artists, Blueprint is an installation designed to explore the relationship and parallels between natural and artificial systems – creating a visual composition that uses mathematical principles of logic that underpin life.

Morphogenetic Creations is a collection of works that explore the nature of complex forms that can be produced by digital simulation of growth systems.

In Elektra’s 20th year common themes from throughout the history of the festival of machinic bodies and digital transcendence are explored in depth and pushed to their extremes.

Created by Yuri Suzuki Design in collaboration with High Atlanta, Sonic Playground is an outdoor sound installation that features ingenious, colourful sculptures that modify and transmit sound in unusual, engaging and playful ways.

“Multiverse” is the new audio-visual installation by fuse* that draws inspiration from these concepts and, through the creation of a sequence of digital paintings, generated in real-time, attempts to represent the eternal birth and death of infinite parallel universes.

Created by Philipp Schmitt (with Margot Fabre), ‘Computed Curation’ is a photobook created by a computer. Taking the human editor out of the loop, it uses machine learning and computer vision tools to curate a series of photos from an archive of pictures.

Karsten and Ricardo bring you this comprehensive introduction to Clojure and functional programming. From syntaxes, symbols, vars & namespaces to data structures, sequences, recursive processing and destructuring.

RCA DI project that looks at possible implication if the act of genetically combining human with animal DNA was not illegal, nor did it violate moral or ethical codes of conduct.

Animalia and Caelum are two projects that take position that our idealisation, romanticism and paradoxical thinking in ecology is holding us back from finding new ways to interact with nature.

This book focuses on a range of programming strategies and techniques behind computer simulations of natural systems, from elementary concepts in mathematics and physics to more advanced algorithms that enable sophisticated visual results.
