The Big Browser 3D @ SeMA Biennale Mediacity Seoul

Latest iteration of the “Big Browser” series of works by Japanese artist Akihiko Taniguchi. This time, the project takes a new twist by using it as a browser for the content of the exhibition using exhibition’s website. Further to this, Akihiko is virtually located on a Google Map, browsing the location of the gallery.

Created by the Responsive Environments team at the MIT Media Lab, the ‘FabricKeyboard’ explores the concept of stretchable fabric “sensate media” as a musical instrument. The work is a response to the current developments of textile sensors, stretchable nature of knitted fabrics, and vast growth of new digital music instruments.

At the Di­gi­tal Me­dia stu­dy pro­gram in University of/the Arts Bremen, com­pu­ter sci­ence meets de­sign, whi­le en­gi­nee­ring and na­tu­ral sci­en­ces in­ter­con­nect with the arts. We present you four recent “semester” projects exploring topics ranging from VR, popular media to digital nature.

Artefact#0, Digital Necrophony is a recent installation by Lille-based artist Mathilde Lavenne that forgoes (burial and cremation) funerary convention in favour of sonification.

Developed at the MIT Media Lab’s Mediated Matter Group, ‘Data-Driven Material Modeling’ refers specifically to the process of the creation of high-resolution, geometrically complex, and materially heterogeneous 3D printed objects at product scale.

Femmebit is a curated festival featuring the most current and relevant work in the field of video art and new media— uniting an all-female roster of artists working in Los Angeles.

Created at The Basel School of Design by the 1st year Visual Communication students, Laser Letters is a group project resulting from a short 6 day course providing an introduction and overview of topics in the realms of typography and media interaction.
