dataMorphose [Processing, Environment]

dataMorphose is diploma project by Christiane Keller at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg / Germany. The interactive installation projects data into space and visualizes it three-dimensionally using spanned and moving sails in attempt to make data physical and tangible.

‘Equilibrium Morphologies’ investigates how complex articulated membrane structures can be erected and tensioned through emergent behaviours of interacting forces and explore multiple states of equilibrium.

Created by Juncheng Chen, Siyuan Jing and Lydia Zhou at the Bartlett School of Architecture (Interactive Architecture Lab), this project explores possibilities in mobile structures by investigating various strategies for locomotion.

Created by Piet Schmidt during the summer semester at UdK Berlin (New Media / Digital Class), Encounter is a a robotic arm with a mirror that curiously observes its surroundings.

Artificial Imagination was a symposium organized by Ottawa’s Artengine this past winter that invited a group of artists to discuss the state of AI in the arts and culture. CAN was on hand to take in the proceedings, and given the emergence of documentation, we share videos and a brief report.

Review of the exhibition last month at the Asia Culture Center in Gwangju, South Korea – a collection of 12 works questioning the essential meaning and significance of the data world.
