Controlled Uncontrollables: SAD and the Bubble Printer

Developed in the context of Human 2 Objects project, the main concept was to reflect the human capacity to transform natural elements and to use the human body and its spatiality as an input for interactivity. As a result, the exhibition Controlled Uncontrollables is composed of two sculptural installations in a delicate interplay of art and technology.

VoxelChair – Designing for behaviour and properties of the material

Created by Manuel Jiménez Garcia and Gilles Retsin, ‘Voxel Chair’ is a first prototype designed using a new design software specifically developed for robotic 3D-Printing which rather than using pre-defined forms and then “slicing” these it into toolpaths or triangular patterns, allows to design and control thousands of line-fragments.

Saturn Submerged – Infinite boxes of infinite space

Created by Gabriel Pulecio, Saturn Submerged is part of an ongoing series of ‘infinity boxes’ that create expanded spaces within themselves. The sculpture is composed of multiple mirrored surfaces and LEDs, which are fused to create the illusion of infinite depth and imagery.
