The Afterparty [Processing]

Back in summer 2009 architecture practice MOS installed a series of large furry cone structures called ‘The Afterparty’ at PS1 space. David Lu designed a Processing application that would inform the design of these architectural forms.

Luciferins—inspired by bioluminescent fish and the plethora of invisible network traffic that surrounds us—is an interactive environment of hanging fiber structures, filling a 15 x 15 foot space.

The path to today’s dance-tech, review the projects by YCAM, and speculate the next steps of dance-tech through a conversation with Richi Owaki, an artist and researcher at YCAM.
