Created by Kris Meeusen and Lab101 for one of their favourite Belgium bands Nid & Sancy, The Cut up Jeans Technique is an iOS app that plays the new album as long as you shake your device. All animations are interactive and real-time making use of OpenGL, GLSL and Cinder libs, built on the iOS OpenGL sample.
Unfortunately not everybody liked this app as much as Kris and all of us at CAN. It was rejected twice from the iTunes store as being not useful (typical response from Apple's staff when they struggle to understand things out of the ordinary). Kris tried altering the app by adding extra info etc but didn't want to step away from the original concept. He did have a call with Apple and they advised him to add more band info, tour dates, links, etc to make it "more useful". Even though Kris did add extra information, him and the team decided not to continue as their app was becoming something they didn't want.
