Pioneering festival onedotzero_adventures in motion returns this year to London’s BFI Southbank from 10 – 14 November 2010, presenting the most exciting international moving image work, from the offbeat to the radical, aiming to push the boundaries of creativity, innovation and technological wonder.

With the event, Filip Visnjic of CreativeApplications.Net will chair the screening/talk titled “code warriors” to take place on Fri 12 Nov at the British Film Institute (BFI) in London.

Creatives are increasingly using computer code as a raw material to create fluid and self-perpetuating moving image work. This brand-new programme showcases the most ambitious personal experiments and imaginative examples of generative films from a cutting-edge community demonstrating a completely alternative way of working and realising their creative visions. Filip Visnjic [Creative Applications Net] will lead a talk with artists whose work features in the programme.

Quayola Installation “Topologies” – BFI Gallery, FREE

‘Topologies’ A bespoke multi-screen installation, featuring a brand new installment of the ongoing Strata series, by regular festival contributor and artistQuayola. Following on from Quayola’s previous ‘Strata’ series, ‘Topologies’ details pre-modernist paintings which re-emerge from their centenary stillness, evolving into complex and mutable formations. Las Meninas [D. Velazquez, 1656] and Immacolata Concezione [G. Tiepolo, 1767] become topographic maps, linear pathways and structures which pulsate, diverging from the origin to produce a living abstract landscape. Topologies renews an interest in the calculative, generative and arrhythmical qualities, which lie dormant behind the details of a masterpiece… organically transforming a recognisable reality into a colour-saturated, calculated fabrication.
