Sonic Pendulum – AI soundspace of tranquility

Created by Yuri Suzuki Design Studio in collaboration with QOSMO and presented at the recent Milan Design Week inside a historical former seminary, Sonic Pendulum is a sound installation in which articial intelligence imagines and materialises an endless soundscape.

Whilst continuously generating a calming ambient-sound and bass-line atmosphere; the algorithm conducts the voice of Miyu Hosoi and processes disturbances around the space, generated by the crowd themselves. The result is in an ever-evolving piece - each moment singular, never to be repeated exactly again - in conversation with its visitors and the way in which they move around the space.

Breaking the Surface – Responsive ‘ocean’ of acrylic actuators

An abstract representation of this landscape is created from a matrix of 529 acrylic pipes piercing the ceiling between the first and the second floor, creating organic rock-like formations on the first floor reflected as an ocean surface on the second.

Fari – Choreographed array of moving light heads

Created by Andreas Gysin in collaboration with Sidi Vanetti, Fari is a kinetic installation created with an array of moving light heads in a geometric configuration and programmed as a choreography.

We were lucky enough to have the chance to meet up with Mattia, to ask him about his, and his team’s, passion for using innovative techniques and aesthetics used in their work, continually seeking new ways and means: the secret of their relentless and overwhelming success.
