Announcing Processing Community Day Japan 2021

The Japanese Processing Community is organizing Processing Community Day Japan 2021 (PCD Japan) on February 20th and 21st. PCD is a worldwide movement of Processing to celebrate art, code and diversity, and since 2019, the community organizes PCD Tokyo, this time rebranded as PCD Japan for an inclusive, online event. On 20th, Masaki Yamabe will give a keynote about Coronavirus visualization (cover image), followed by a talk session by Ayakooo, Chinyuri, So Kanno and Naoto Hieda.

On 21st, there will be two workshops: a p5.js workshop by Sayama and a MiniTidal (TidalCycles) workshop by Chiho Oka.

Tickets can be claimed here (Japanese): https://pcd2021.peatix.com/

Although most of the streaming contents will be in Japanese, we started “daily coding challenge” on 13th, in which everyone can participate on Twitter by posting an image made with any creative coding tool with hashtag #PCD2021. The “prompt list” and details can be found here. All the sketches will be automatically included in our 3D Gallery to celebrate the festival.

The community is run by Shunsuke Takawo (Konan Women’s University) and Naoto Hieda (KHM Cologne) and supported by volunteer members. We would like to thank the generous sponsors, Daito Manabe (Rhizomatiks), MIKIKO (Elevenplay) and OpenProcessing for making this festival happen.
