alt-AI / exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and art –– Videos

Earlier this year SFPC in NYC was the host to alt-AI, a conference organised by Lauren Gardner and Gene Kogan to highlight and question artificial intelligence through the lens of artistic practice.

What role can artists, writers, coders, and curators play in mediating scientific research to the public? How do we critically examine the implications, artifacts, and applications that follow?

The conference took place from 20th until 22nd of May, 2016 and featured a mini exhibition as well as a series of talks and workshops. Participants included  Francis Tseng, Hannah Davis, Mario KlingemannCassie TarakajianGene KoganRebecca FiebrinkMike TykaHeather Dewey-HagborgGolan LevinKathryn HumeJason LevineLynn ChernyBrian Whitman and Allison Parrish.

Unfortunately we were not there to see it all but the team were kind enough to record the talks and make them available online (thanks to Internet Society). You can watch them here.
