From the team that brought you the excellent ‘lo-fi sci-fi’ short Ghost With Shit Jobs,  Haphead is a related in-development webseries that just launched on Kickstarter. The pitch:

Ten years from now, videogames are so immersive that teenagers learn lethal skills just by playing. They’re called hapheads.... Through a minor miracle we got funding for production in the spring and since then we've been going full tilt. Polishing the script. Casting. Rehearsing. Shooting all eight episodes (60+ minutes) of season one in just two weeks. And now we’re ready to show the world! Well, almost.

Kinograph – Affordable and scaleable film digitisation

Kinograph is an open source project that makes film digitisation affordable and scaleable. It uses components available on the internet, a few 3D printed parts, and a consumer level camera and it produces high quality video with sound.

Pent – A short film created using Grand Theft Auto V

Created and directed by Roland Spencer, Pent is a short film entirely created using Grand Theft Auto V. Since the video games have taken leaps towards realism, Roland felt it was something worth putting time and effort into. The finished piece is a story about anger, control and pay off, told using a video game.

RGBFAQ – From Bell Labs to synthetic datasets and the new ‘technical debt’

Latest in the series of video essays by an artist and researcher Alan Warburton, is ‘RGBFAQ’, tracing the trajectory of computer graphics from WW2 to Bell Labs in the 1960s, from the visual effects studios of the 1990s to the GPU-assisted algorithms of the latest machine learning models.
