Konkreet Performer is an OSC music control and performance instrument created by Berlin based Konkreet Labs collective. Instead of faders and knobs, Performer allows you to remotely operate music or visual software on your computer, using interactive visualisations. Any software that allows OSC input can be controlled. These include more traditional music making apps such as Ableton Live (shown in the video) or custom built applications created using Processing, oF, MaxMSP or other.

Some seven months ago Squarepusher and WARP records released a video titled Z-Machines, comprised of hand built robots showcasing the stupendous chops of the robot guitarist, drummer and keyboard player.

IDNA – Spatial storytelling prototype for the iOS

IDNA by Sylvain Joly is the first story deployed on their spatial storytelling prototype for the iOS platform. Each scene of the story is designed in 360 degrees, and thanks to the built in gyroscope, it can be explored virtually throughout.

10 Most Memorable Projects of 2015

As 2015 winds down we look back at almost 200 extraordinary projects we’ve covered this year on CAN. And as is the case every year, picking the ten ‘best’ is hard if not impossible, as each of them has driven the conversation around the state of art and design in their own unique way. And yet, the following ten works stuck with us and, if anything, make great starting points for reflection and inspiration as we head into the new year.
