PASY02 is a synthesizer using a physical simulation of a net and it's tension to generate sound. The net tension parameters are configurable and you are able to choose waveform from sine, triangle, square and sawtooth wave.
PASY02 is a great example of innovation in iPhone application design. It provides an engaging and innovative controls making interesting use of iPhone's multitouch. Like most experimental applications of this type there are few issues. For example, the application tends to make crackling sounds when switching settings. This is not so much of a problem but can get quite worrying especially when your iphone is at it's max volume. In addition, whilst there is visibly a lot of thinking behind the net dynamics, there doesn't seem to be much behind the actual icon/buttons/text/layout design. Another very important feature that is missing that most application of this type should have is the ability to create/save presets. This should allow PASY02 to become more of a real tool and not just an experimental app to show off to your friends.
