TweakyBeat [iPhone, Sound]

It's well known that I am a fan of analog drum boxes - especially quirky ones like Tweaky Beat. Tweaky Beat allows you to make loops of analog drum sounds (generated ones, not samples). In terms of functionality, this app gives you just enough. It is monophonic and there are only a few parameters, but it's still more than enough to make some funky synth sounds. You may be surprised what you can coax out of it with very little effort. The interface is fairly intuitive - you can set up several patterns and switch between them. Each sound is represented by a colored block and you can edit settings on a per sound basis. Everything fits on one page. The interface looks nice, though some of the controls are a bit too small for comfortable editing. This app should appeal to fans of minimal music, and I could see myself recording a loop I've made and using it in a song later. Did I mention this app is free? Check it out!
