wiresq [iPhone, openFrameworks, Sound]

Created by Jonathan Brodsky, Wiresq is an iPhone sound sequencer app based on Wireworld, a cellular automata. Compared with the game of life, drawing a memory circuit is quite easy. As you draw the cells and watch how they behave you can assign synths to each cell. They can then be individually modified using a three waveform subtractive synthesizer with an agressive filter. Wires are yellow. Sparks are red. Tails are blue. Sparks always become Tails. Tails always become Wires. Wires become Sparks if one or two of the neighbor cells are Sparks. The neighbors can be either right next door or on a diagonal. In addition, double tapping on a cell brings up the note selector. Any synths linked to this cell will trigger with this note.
