NYU Shanghai is seeking full-time contract faculty to join its programs in Interactive Media Arts and Interactive Media Business, undergraduate liberal arts programs in the practice and theory of interactive media.
Designed by Tsinghua University team led by Danqing Shi, The Field of Hope is a lighting installation for the 2015 Milan EXPO China Pavilion. It consists of 30,000 metal “straws”, each with a LED diffuser tip, functioning as a 3-dimensional pixel display field.
Composed using Processing, the piece is a hybrid between realtime debug-view and animation. Camera orbits about Engine cylinders dispersed in three-dimensional space.
