Fantastic Smartphones, alternative accessories, interactive installations and machine performances highlight the excesses relating to our use of these devices. By imagining innovative ways of interacting with our smartphones or by delegating our repetitive actions to machines, this exhibition takes a critical look at a society that has become addicted to an object that seems to have become indispensable : the “smart” phone.

From spectacular machines, intricate tools and mesmerising performances and installations to the new mediums for artistic enquiry – so many great new projects have been added to the CAN archive! With your help we selected some favourites.
31/12/2018Produced by Timo Arnall, Internet Machine is a multi-screen film about the invisible infrastructures of the internet. The film was made to reveal hidden materiality of our data by exploring some of the machines through which ‘the cloud’ is transmitted and transformed.
