Created by Kimchi and Chips, ‘Another Moon’ is a large-scale outdoor apparition that creates a technically sublime second moon in the sky. 40 towers collect the sun’s energy during the day and project that light back into the sky at night, creating a second moon overhead.

CAN 2017 – Highlights and Favourites

As 2017 comes to a close, we take a moment to look back at the outstanding work done this year. node 5:5 – New spatial dynamics, at scale and magnificence

Ryoichi Kurokawa sets out a new phase of his use of space with light and sound, and how different mediums can be merged in space and time as single unit. node 5:5 fills the ACC in Gwangju, South Korea with mesmerising abstract information and imagery, intoxicating the viewer in an unforgettable visual, auditory and spatial experience.

As 2017 comes to a close, we take a moment to look back at the outstanding work done this year. From spectacular peformances, large scale installations, devices and tools to the new virtual spaces for artistic exploration – so many great projects are being added to the CAN archive! Here are a just few, 25 in total, that we and you enjoyed the most this year.

CAN reports on MUTEK 2015’s audiovisual performance programming and the ‘HOLO encounters’ live Q&A’s we did with artists Robin Fox and Hiroaki Umeda.

What happens when you mix soap bubbles and lasers? Memo Akten, 1/3 of Marshmallow Laser Feast, just got hold of Etherdream DAC laser and has been “messing” with it using openFrameworks.
