Gutfather – Capsule to transfer “Abdominal Feeling”

Created by Stefan Schwabe in collaboration with Fraunhofer CeRRI and Sebastian Kletzander, Gutfather is a speculative design project comprising a capsule that traverses the human organism and changes its shape through the influence of microbes until it is secreted as an object-bearing imprint of the microbiome.

Palimpsest – Collective memory through Virtual Reality

Created at the Bartlett School of Architecture / Interactive Architecture, Palimpsest uses 3D scanning and virtual reality to record urban spaces and the communities that live in them. The project aims to question/test the implication if the past, present, and future city could exist in the same place, layering personal stories and local histories of the city at a 1:1 scale.

Poetic Router – A tribute to the age of network awareness

Created by Saurabh Datta (automato), Poetic Router is a project that investigates the potential of the everyday manufactured IoT platforms beyond what is commonly discussed. Whereas most concerns of IoT are focused on security since every “Chip-‘ed” device is hackable and can be jacked and modded remotely. Poetic Router explores network transmission as a way to generate poetry by scraping the data found on the server links.

Facets of ‘New Making’ – Tektonics at ACT Festival

Huge stroboscopic datastreams, hypnotic human-machine choreographies, a cacophony of Korean, Japanese, English, German, and French – ten weeks ago, from November 25th to 28th 2015, an unlikely cross-cultural exchange took over the all new ACT Center in Gwangju, South Korea. More than a hundred artists, designers, curators, and educators answered our invitation to add their work and voice to the inaugural edition of ACT Festival, an opening celebration for the center’s monumental facilities.

It’s doing it – Online exhibition of computer generated images that autonomously update

Created as a collaboration between 9 artists, It’s doing it is an online group exhibition of computer generated images that autonomously updates on a daily basis over the course of 45 days. All of the works in the show are instruction-based artworks expressed through computer programs written by the artists. These programs generate new images once daily that can be viewed on the website.

Sun Thinking is an online group show that brings together artists and writers to explore some of the themes and questions central to the Solar Protocol.

A complete redesign of his 2014 Jean Tinguely-inspired project, David Colombini’s Attachment is a “poetic machine” that renders physical manifestations of user-generated digital messages (text, images, or videos) and sends them off via biodegradable balloons.

Created at the Köln International School of Design and supervised by Prof. Andreas Muxel, Feedback Machines is a short student project that explores the concept of feedback loops, as an attempt to introduce students to physical computing as well as provide a perspective on the complex topic through experimental explorations.

Created by Alexia Léchot at ECAL, Deltu is a delta robot with a personality that interacts with humans using two iPads. Created using arm technology normally found in 3d printers, Deltu uses three different applications on the iPad Alexia built for it, using symmetry as an interpretation, a mirror and a reflexion of our own image.

Cathedral-in-the-Clouds is virtual diorama by Tale of Tales created to contemplate ancient religious themes in real-time 3D. The project is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

Created by Tim Clark at the Royal College of Art, Design Interactions, High Speed Horizons is a design-driven, critical exploration into technology, innovation, big thinking, and our constantly changing attitudes towards the three, told through projected visions of alternative energies and flight.
