Created by Jonghong Park, ‘Catastrophic Combinations’ explores a recursive system of mechanical repetition where every movement is open to unpredictability and fault.
09/02/2022Created by Playmodes, ‘FORMS – String Quartet’ is a live multimedia performance for a string quartet, electronic music and panoramic visuals, in the field of visual sonification. The project originates from a real-time visual music score generator created by Playmodes, that is designed with a set of rules using graphic generation, driven by randomness and probability.
24/05/2021Created bu Jonghong Park at the University of the Arts Bremen (Digital Media Program), the installation ‘bit’ represents a natural random process based on the principle of a Markov chain.
27/11/2018Created by Ralf Baecker, Putting The Pieces Back Together Again is an artistic investigation and meditation about complex systems and scientific methodology. Consisting of 1250 stepper motors arranged in a two dimensional grid, each motor in the installation moves in a random direction, sometimes intersecting and reversing direction, producing emergent constellations and behaviours.
02/11/2018Low cost and open source, Rob Seward’s Z1FFER is Hardware Random Number Generator that harnesses thermal noise to provide a high quality random bitstream for research and experimentation. Available at the CAN shop now!
