A project by Design I/O for TIFF Kids International Film Festival’s interactive playground digiPlaySpace, Mimic brings a UR5 robotic arm to life and imbues it with personality. Playfully craning its neck to get a better look, arcing back when it is startled – it responds to each child that enters its field of view.
07/03/2017Created by Design I/O, World’s Tiniest Violin is a ‘speed project’ that uses Google’s Project Soli – Alpha Dev Kit combined with the Wekinator machine learning tool and openFrameworks to detect small movements that look like someone playing a tiny violin and translate that to the volume and playback of a violin solo.
10/06/2016Created by Cambridge (US) based creative studio Design I/O, Connected Worlds is a large scale immersive, interactive ecosystem developed for the New York Hall of Science.
24/06/2015Weather Worlds is an interactive installation that grants children weather controlling superpowers. Utilising kinect cameras and real-time greenscreening via openFrameworks, the installation allows children to see themselves immersed in an interactive and dynamic environment.
