Karesansui – Pitch-black sprawling limbs in the gallery’s floors and walls

Created by Aaaajiao, Karesansui is a site-specific sculpture that borrows it's title from Japanese Dry Landscape also known as the Rock Garden. Often referred to as a zen garden, this miniature stylised landscape is carefully composed of rocks, water features, moss, trees and bushes creates a peaceful, quiet environment for the viewer. In Karesansui, Aaaajiao used an algorithm and vvvv to create a landscape in a vector-field like arrangement of pitch-black mutant limbs, taking a viewer into an unsettling dystopian scenery of spawned beings growing out of the gallery’s floors, walls, and stairway, competing with each other.
