Created by Marc Faasse, Playground NDSM is an interactive photomontage that includes 7 years of photographs taken by Marc and mapped using googlemaps engine. Since 2007 Marc has been taking pictures of the NDSM-warf in Amsterdam. The site is changing rapidly: the crane is moved and became a hotel, the slopes are being renovated and the skate park is closed. Marc documents the site with 'Playground NDSM', examining and archiving the how he and the visitors played at NDSM the past 7 years. He attempts to describe his ideal image of the NDSM, namely the ground as a playground for everyone, and now a photo montage of different activities on a map.
The photomontage is 120,000 x 120,000 px large, cut and geo-referenced by gdal2tiles in about 175,000 png tiles of 256 x 256 px and you can explore it at the link below.
