Looks Like Music – Yuri Suzuki at Mudam 2013

For its summer project in 2013, Mudam’s Publics Department invited Yuri Suzuki to conceive Looks Like Music, an audiovisual installation based on his work with Colour Chaser – beautifully designed but minimal vehicle that detects and follows a black line whilst it reads crossing coloured lines and translates them as RGB data into sound.

Yuri Suzuki and Pentagram in collaboration with Counterpoint have re-imagined the Electronium – Raymond Scott’s instantaneous performance-composition machine.

Created by Yuri Suzuki Design Studio and presented at the recent Milan Design Week, Sonic Pendulum is a sound installation in which articial intelligence imagines and materialises an endless soundscape.

The Hack n’ Roll is a collaboration between KORG, OK GO and the students and tutors from the Platform 21 unit in the Design Products Department at the Royal College of Art in London to design musical instruments that surprise, amuse and excite.

❮ Sound Revival – Visual identity and objectification of digital sound effects ❯

Created by James Boock, Sound Revival is a range of objects and a custom 3-Way sound system that uses the analogue means of materials and mechanical movements to manipulate sound.


❮ Oplab by Teenage Engineering and Yuri Suzuki returns ❯

The Oplab musical experiment board allows you to interconnect virtually any electronic musical instruments and music software. It removes the hassle with one box for MIDI and another for CV or a third for USB.

Ishin-Denshin is an interactive installation that addresses physicality and intimacy in digital audio communication by transmitting sound through touch.
