Creative Applications Network (“CAN”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the CAN Website (https://www.creativeapplications.net) and the CAN Activity app (“App”).


1. Who We Are

Creative Applications Network is operated by Filip Visnjic (sole trader). For data protection purposes, we are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

When you register an account:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Username
  • Password (stored encrypted — we do not store plain-text passwords)
  • IP address at time of registration

When you use the Website or App:

  • Activity logs (posts, comments, likes, and interactions you make)
  • Last accessed IP address
  • Device and browser type (via server logs)
  • Session tokens (stored securely in device Keychain on iOS)

When you subscribe via the App Store:

  • Apple processes payment data directly. We receive only a transaction identifier (originalTransactionId) to link your subscription to your CAN account. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

When you subscribe via the Website (Stripe / PayPal):

  • Payment is processed by Stripe or PayPal. We receive confirmation of payment and your subscription status. We do not store full payment card details.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: To provide you with the membership service you have signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests: To maintain the security and integrity of our platform, detect abuse, and improve our service.
  • Legal obligation: Where required by applicable law.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and manage your CAN membership account
  • To authenticate you on the Website and App
  • To process and manage your subscription
  • To send account-related emails (registration confirmation, password reset, subscription notices)
  • To display your profile and activity to other CAN members
  • To monitor for abuse, spam, and violations of our Terms & Conditions
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making. We do not sell your data to third parties.


5. Data Storage and Security

  • App: Authentication credentials are stored securely in the iOS device Keychain. No personal data is stored on-device beyond what is necessary for authentication.
  • Website: Authentication is maintained via cookies. Anonymous usage statistics are tracked via Matomo Analytics — data stays on our servers and is not shared with third parties.
  • Servers: Your account data is stored on our servers. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access.

8. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: Data is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Expired accounts: Accounts are deleted within 30 days of the expiry date.
  • Deleted accounts: Upon confirmed deletion, all personal data is permanently removed from our systems.
  • Server logs: Access logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes.

9. Your Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the UK or European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (see Account Deletion below).
  • Right to data portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

10. Account Deletion

If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated personal data, send a request to members[at]creativeapplications.net from the email address associated with your account.

  • Subscription Cancellation Required: You must manually cancel any active subscription via your PayPal dashboard, Stripe billing link, or Apple ID settings before requesting deletion. We cannot delete accounts with an active, uncancelled subscription.
  • Identity Verification: We may request proof of identity to verify the requester’s authority.
  • Irreversible: Once deleted, data is non-recoverable.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our service is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.


12. International Transfers

Your data is primarily stored and processed within the UK and EU. Where data is transferred outside these regions (for example, via Apple or PayPal’s infrastructure), such transfers are conducted under appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data protection law.


13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the Website or App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
