We are excited to announce that starting today, Absolut in collaboration with CreativeApplications.Net and 1X are calling for entries for The Andy Warhol Art Exchange, an online initiative inviting you to unleash your creativity by creating and exchanging digital art. All participants will exchange art with another randomly selected artist, and one lucky winner will even receive an original photograph shot by Andy Warhol himself.
At absolut.com/artexchange, you can submit any digital image file, including images from Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. You can also create new works using the custom developed tools. The tools include a set of custom-built brushes, a kaleidoscopic pattern maker, a webcam tool transforming body movement into artwork and an a dual screen solution allowing you to use your smartphone to paint at your laptop or tablet screen.
This art exchange follows the release of The Andy Warhol Edition, a limited edition bottle that transforms Warhol’s 1986 Absolut painting into the shape of the iconic bottle,” says Nodjame Fouad, Director of Storytelling at Absolut. “This initiative invites people to unleash their creativity and try something new. It honors Andy Warhol’s inclusive approach to art, and it’s also a salute to a new digital world, where global audiences can connect, create and come together to shape the world’s largest art exchange.
The Andy Warhol Art Exchange by Absolut runs from October to December, and is open for participants from anywhere in the world. At the end of each month, all participants are randomly matched with another artist, with whom they will exchange artworks automagically. After receiving their new art, participants can download and share the artworks, and even order professional grade prints.
Some participant will receive artworks from David OReilly, Kim Asendorf, Zimoun, Marius Watz or one of the other acclaimed artists participating in the exchange. One lucky winner will even get an original photograph shot by Andy Warhol himself.
