Internet Age Media Weekend

The first Internet Age Media Weekend connects the future of niche communication in Barcelona.

In March 2015, Barcelona will hold the first Internet Age Media – IAM Weekend, a unique event connecting the ecosystem that is shaping the future of design, fashion, technology, visual arts and music, from a media perspective. The theme of this year is Evolution, exploring questions about media fragmentation, content curation and the rise of niche communication.

This project is connecting for the first time the people behind influential online publications like Jeff Hamada (Booooooom), Alex Bec (It’s Nice That) and [yours truly] Filip Visnjic (Creative Applications Network) together with an eclectic mix of panelists and speakers from leading brands (Google, Nike, Beats by Dre, Ableton, Vimeo), schools (Strelka, Hyper Island)  and media companies (Vice, Al-Jazeera).

During the IAM Weekend the 300+ participants will be a part of an exciting conversation starting on day 1 with diverse views about the future of media from Russia, Qatar and Brazil, contrasting approaches to digital publishing, and key insights about the next generation of fashion media.

The second day will begin with a series of talks about the intersection of arts, media and technology, chaired by CAN and featuring Will Lai (FRAMED) and our own Alexander Scholz (HOLO), followed by a panel about the future of communication between humans and technology.  The day will continue with sessions about creative ecosystems developing under the radar, the evolution of visual arts and the collaborative power of music.

The third day will be devoted to co-creation and networking, with a unique selection of workshops, master-classes and open air activities where the attendees will also be able to interact and connect with local creative projects and young talents.

The Internet Age Media Weekend agenda includes 30+ talks and panels, 5 workshops and master classes, a young talent showcase, roundtable dinners hosted by lead panellists, a party and a guaranteed WTF! experience, becoming a true celebration of internet randomness.
