  • pulse00British developer team UglyApps seem to have been cooking up all kinds of stuff at their little studio lately. This includes realtime shadows running on the iPhone as well as Pulse, a freeware game they’ve been working on over the past week for the Windows and Mac platform.

Pulse is a hybridised arena shooter with a fresh hint of mouse avoidance gameplay thrown into the mix. The concept is simple: your ship has been fitted with a pulse cannon, a relatively primitive but ultimately devastating weapon capable of destroying any enemy within a certain radius. In order to charge the pulse cannon players must keep enemies within an energy collection zone for a certain amount of time. The longer enemies are caught within the energy collection zone, the more powerful the pulse cannon becomes.

A fun little game definitely worth checking out.

UglyApps are also the creators of fantastic Rotorumpus, a mind-bending 3d puzzler for the iPhone we reviewed weeks back.
